Terms of use and sale
These terms apply to this website and to buying the ebook Python for Beginners. Please read them before you buy. They are available in English, the language in which the contract is concluded.
1. Who we are
This website and the ebook are published by Your Full Name (NIF 00000000X), Calle Ejemplo 1, 28001 Madrid, Spain, email hello@example.com (“we”, “us”). Full details are in the Legal notice.
2. Who sells to you: Polar
Purchases are processed by Polar (polar.sh), acting as reseller and merchant of record. Polar sells the ebook to you, takes the payment, calculates and collects any VAT or sales tax, and issues your receipt and invoice. Polar’s own terms also apply to the payment.
We remain responsible for the content of the ebook, for its description on this website, and for supporting you.
3. The product
The ebook is digital content supplied as two files, described on the product page: the book as a PDF file and its example files as a ZIP file. You need a device that can open PDF files, such as a phone, tablet or computer, and a Windows, macOS or Linux computer to run the example programs. Nothing physical is shipped.
4. Price and taxes
The price is shown on the product page in US dollars. Polar calculates the tax that applies in your country: in the EU and most countries VAT is included in the price; in some countries, such as the United States and Canada, sales tax may be added. The final amount is always shown in the checkout before you pay. Payment methods are those offered by Polar at checkout.
5. How the contract is made
- Press “buy the ebook” and review your order on the checkout page.
- Confirm that you want immediate access (see section 7).
- Enter your details and pay in Polar’s secure checkout. You can correct any input error there before paying.
- The contract is concluded when the payment is confirmed. Polar then emails you the confirmation, the invoice and a link to your downloads. Keep that email: it is your copy of the contract.
6. Delivery
The ebook is available as soon as the payment is confirmed: from the confirmation page, from the link in the confirmation email, and at any later time from your Polar library, where you sign in with the email you used to buy. If you cannot download it, contact us and we will help.
7. Right of withdrawal
Consumers in the EU usually have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, that right is lost once delivery starts, if you have given your prior express consent and acknowledged that you lose the right (article 103.m of the Spanish consumer law, TRLGDCU, and article 16.m of Directive 2011/83/EU).
At checkout you are asked to give that consent by ticking a box; you cannot pay without it. Your consent is recorded with your order and confirmed in your order confirmation. Once the ebook is available to you, you can no longer withdraw. See the Refund policy.
8. If something is wrong
The ebook must match its description and work as expected. If the file is faulty, incomplete or not as described, you have the legal right under Spanish consumer law to have it fixed, or to a price reduction or refund if it cannot be fixed within a reasonable time. Contact us at hello@example.com.
9. What you may do with the ebook
Buying the ebook gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read it. You may:
- download it, keep copies on your own devices and print it for your own use;
- use and adapt the code examples in your own programs, including commercial ones;
- quote short passages with attribution, for example in a review.
You may not share, resell, upload or otherwise distribute the ebook or substantial parts of it, or remove copyright notices. All rights not granted here are reserved.
10. Using this website
Use this website lawfully. The Python playground runs code in your own browser; do not use it to attempt to harm other systems. We may change or interrupt the website at any time without affecting purchases already made.
11. Liability
The ebook is educational material. We do our best to keep it accurate, but we do not guarantee any particular result from using it. We are not liable for indirect loss, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
12. Complaints
If you have a complaint, email hello@example.com and we will reply within 1 business day. If we cannot resolve it, you can also contact the consumer office in your area (in Spain, your local OMIC or regional consumer authority).
13. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence. Otherwise, the courts of Madrid, Spain, have jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one shown when you bought; its date is at the top of this page and is stored with your order.
